A friendly fall welcome to all, whether you're a prospective member or an established member of MetroHarp. Your presence is the heartbeat of our collective endeavor, and we're elated to have you here!
We are thrilled to introduce our new board members: Chelsea Lane (President), Tomina Parvanova Lyden (Vice President), Liann Cline (Secretary), Olivia Fortunato (Treasurer), and Violetta Maria Norrie (Social Media Manager). This new committee is eager to continue the work of previous MetroHarp officers Brandee Younger, Mia Theodoratus, Robert Randazzo, and Veronica Ní Ghrianáin. Please join us in thanking them for all their years of amazing work as we embark on this journey together!
We have some exciting events on the horizon that we can't wait to share with you. From masterclasses with visiting artists to harp ensemble opportunities, there are occasions for all harpists to connect with MetroHarp in the coming months. We hope that you will encourage your friends, family, and students to subscribe to our newsletter via our brand-new website to stay up-to-date with MetroHarp programming.

Chelsea LaneChelsea Lane (MetroHarp Chapter President) is currently serving as Adjunct Artist in Harp at Vassar College and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Harp, Chamber Music, and Music History at the College of Staten Island, CUNY. An active New York City freelancer, she has performed with numerous classical ensembles and Broadway shows (Wicked, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Paradise Square, and Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes). Her recent album Suspensions highlights her interest in promoting new music for the harp. She holds degrees from Yale |

Tomina Parvanova Lyden Tomina Lyden (MetroHarp Chapter Vice President) enjoys a versatile career in NYC as a Broadway, session and concert performer. Most recently, Tomina appeared at the 76th Tony awards and is currently the harpist of the hit Broadway revival, Sweeney Todd. She has performed with a myriad of major orchestras, including Boston Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, and Louisiana Philharmonic. Tomina is a four times winner of the Principal Harp (split chair) |

Olivia FortunatoOlivia Fortunato (MetroHarp Treasurer) is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music who has won a multitude of competitions and featured positions at national and international festivals. Olivia has lived in Manhattan since 2014 and regularly performs for recording sessions and orchestras, in addition to a variety of private events. She was a producer at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for many years before attending the Cardozo |

Liann ClineLiann Cline (MetroHarp Secretary) is an NYC-based harpist and private harp instructor. A versatile artist, she performs with ensembles such as the Grammy-winning 8-bit Big Band, the Chelsea Symphony, Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and Numinous Music. As a former resident harpist at the Grand Hotel on Michigan's Mackinac Island from 2017 through 2021, she also provides music for special events for afternoon teas, weddings, funerals, and corporate events in NYC, Long Island, NJ, and CT. Violetta NorrieVioletta Maria Norrie (Social Media Manager) is a freelance harpist in NYC who has appeared as a soloist and orchestral musician with ensembles such as the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, the Inwood Chamber Players, and the Greenwich Village Orchestra. In her focus on contemporary music she has performed with contemporary ensembles Contemporaneous and Blackbox Ensemble as well as free improvising on both pedal and lever harp in collaboration with dance. Violetta is half of viola-harp duo Eleventh Hour. She holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the Yale School of Music and has studied at the CNSM de Paris. She maintains a teaching studio in Inwood in Manhattan. |
