Happy New Year!

Dear NY MetroHarp Community,

On behalf of the entire board of MetroHarp, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year!

We are very much looking forward to a full roster of events taking place in early 2024, many of which we hope you will consider attending! From a coffee social to harp ensemble concert to recital and masterclass with Hannah Cope to a panel on freelancing in NYC, we have a wide array of events for harpists of all levels, ages, and professions!

I would like to direct your attention in particular to our first two events of the year, taking place in January and February. The first event will be a social gathering open to members and prospective members at Grace St. Coffee (17 W. 32nd Street) on Monday, January 15th from 2-4PM. While we encourage you to RSVP on Facebook, registration is not required. We would love to meet you and catch up over a cup of tea or coffee, even if you can only stop by for a few minutes!

The following event will be a harp ensemble concert on Saturday, February 17th at Grace & St. Paul’s Church (123 W 71st St), open to all ages and levels. There is no fee to participate in the harp ensemble or to attend the concert, but the event is limited to MetroHarp members and registration is required. We encourage participants to register as soon as possible so that we can share the repertoire for the concert. You can find more information about the events, including how to register, below or on our website.

Our events are now open to even more harpists: I am pleased to announce that MetroHarp has renewed their reciprocal membership program with the North Jersey and Connecticut Chapters of the American Harp Society. Our members can join their chapters for $5, and vice versa. We hope that these arrangements will allow our harpists the opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues in the tri-state area.

This board would like to continue our strong commitment to making MetroHarp a place of inclusivity and diversity in 2024. Please reach out to us via email if you have any suggestions as to how we can better serve your community or if you would like to become more involved with MetroHarp!

We look forward to seeing you at a future event!

With warmest wishes for a healthy and happy 2024,

Chelsea Lane, NY MetroHarp Chapter President
